Overview


Capital are seeking a System AIT Engineer to oversee Assembly, Integration, and Testing for
aerospace projects. Responsibilities include technical coordination, documentation,
scheduling, supplier management, and process optimisation. The role requires a degree in
engineering or equivalent, extensive experience in space systems, strong leadership skills,
and the ability to manage risks effectively. Must be adaptable, proactive, and willing to
travel and work shifts.



Your tasks


Technical overall responsibility for AIT in the project
- Close collaboration with and support of the AIT-Manager
- Technical coordination of the AIT project team
- Contact person and interface to Engineering, Verification, and Product Assurance
AIT documentation and identification of inputs
- Review and generation of high level AIT documentation
- Consulting in the design and assembly concept definition phase, regarding feasibility of
production and testing approaches
- Scheduling of the integration and test activities based on the verification plan and
assembly concept
- Identification and coordination of the necessary inputs for the activities preparation,
in
collaboration with the Systems Engineering
- Identification of required Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and setup of the GSE Deployment
Plan
Ensuring the level of maturity of the input for the work preparation (mechanical and
electrical)
in the required time and quality
- Review of the Assembly Tree (BOM structure) and the CAD data following “Design-To-AIT”
standards under close collaboration with Construction and Engineering
departments
- Participation to System Engineering meetings to ensure the level of maturity of the input
for the work preparation in the required time and quality
- Define deadlines for required inputs (ICDs, CAD drawings, parts lists, test
instrumentation, work instructions) and ensure compliance
- Review of the AIT processes approved for the respective project and ensure their
availability on time
- Review of external documentation (suppliers, manuals etc.): identify and schedule
dependencies, limitations, delays, etc.
- Write work orders for the preparation and implementation of AIT activities, adapt and
control them if necessary
Planning in day-to-day business
- Setting up and updating the floor plan
- Setting up and updating the personal and shift planning
Supporting the AIT Manager in preparing and conducting AIT Weekly Meetings
- Exchange of (AIT-)relevant information
- Report on the progress of AIT activities
- Review and report on the status of AIT activities
- Review and report on the anomaly/NCR status, participate NRBs
Technical coordination of suppliers and subcontractors
- Planning for outsourced activities, definition of time windows
- Organize and supervise activities of subcontractor teams onsite
- AIT Tools, Templates, Standards and Process (continuous improvement)
- Ensure implementation and (correct) use / compliance in the project
- Participation in updating and, if necessary, improving them in consultation with the
specialist department



Qualifications


- Completed engineering studies in a relevant area or equivalent qualification
- Long-time experience in space, technical competence in several relevant areas,
confidence in
handling of space processes, structured working method
- Good communication skills, high problem solving orientation, high flexibility,
resilience
- Competence of technical leadership of several employees
- Planning with foresight, high cost and schedule awareness, timely detection and
avoidance of
technical risks
- Increased willingness for travelling and shift work
