Location: Mainz, Germany
Contract type: 6 month contract with possible extension 
We use our expertise in Mainz in access to space: We develop and build turnkey parabolic 
antennas in the field of civil and military satellite communications, radio telescopes up to 
100m in diameter and optical telescopes for astronomy, as well as satellite communications 
stations and launch facilities for the European space program. We look back on over 50 years 
of experience in steel and mechanical engineering, drive and control technology, 
high-frequency technology and software engineering.

Your tasks

- Development of concepts for energy, control, drive and safety systems for our systems
- Design and implementation of these concepts in reality, together with colleagues from 
  various specialist departments
- Management of subcontractors and support of our assembly teams
- Commissioning, testing and validation of subsystems in the factory and on systems
- Work worldwide possible - depending on project phases, also over several weeks
- Troubleshooting and troubleshooting measures

Qualifications

- A degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics or similar is a prerequisite
- A focus of interest in the areas of automation technology, drive technology and control 
  engineering - practical experience in relevant areas is an advantage
- Good knowledge of PLC programming with Beckhoff TwinCAT 3
- Knowledge of other PLC systems is an advantage
- Knowledge of general programming of PC software and the use of scripting languages such 
  as Python is an advantage
- Ability to recognise relationships in complex systems and develop solutions tailored to 
  requirements
- Basic understanding of how electrical systems work and knowledge of electrical circuit 
  diagrams
- Think outside the box and enthusiasm for challenging, diverse technical tasks
- An independent, structured way of working and working together in interdisciplinary 
  development teams are not mutually exclusive for you
- "Hands-on mentality" and willingness to pick up a screwdriver or crimping pliers from 
  time to time
- Good written and spoken English skills, knowledge of German is an advantage
