A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Cost Engineer to work within the Space industry. English and German language skills required for this position
Responsibilities will include:
Manage / Support cost engineering activities in different frames:
- Feasibility studies to implementation proposals
- Specific subsystems to E2E systems
- Earth Observation to Telecommunication or Science Exploration
- Working with a variety of customers including ESA, EC, DLR
- Provide costing expertise to the project team supporting the collection and validation of cost input, from internal company sources (departments) and external team members and suppliers
- Coordinate the cost engineering activities ensuring the delivery of the required cost analyses (respecting the customer and the company internal requirements) in quality and in time
- Support the cost optimisation activities granting that the different constraints and requirements are properly reflected (technical, programmatic, financial, georeturn, etc etc)
- Ensure that the cost analyses is reviewed according to the internal policies and is aligned within all the internal stakeholders (management, BD, project team, departments, procurement, controlling, etc)
- Contribute to the definition of the internal processes associated to cost engineering
- Contribute to the definition of the set of tools and templates associated to cost engineering
- Contribute to the organisation and execution of in-house training on cost engineering
Qualifications required:
- Completed studies (Diploma or Master) in aerospace engineering or equivalent qualification (i.e. mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics)
- Strong experience in cost engineering
- Advanced knowledge of the MS suite (VBA coding, high-level skills with MS Word)
- Very good communication skills in oral / written English and German
- Experience in the space sector
- Additional competences considered strong assets:
- Experience in the commercial space sector
- System engineering or Project Management background
