Your Tasks
• Coordinate engineering teams composed of engineers from multiple technical disciplines,
focusing on development, design, and analysis.
• Assist in the creation of related engineering work packages and oversee them throughout the project duration.
• Support the definition of instrument requirements related to Electro-Functional technical disciplines
and evaluate the compliance of design solutions.
• Develop and refine Electro-Functional design baseline solutions based on customer requirements and budget constraints.
• Define and maintain Electro-Functional budgets, ensuring they remain within the allocated requirements.
• Support the allocation and flow-down of lower-level subsystem requirements and budgets,
ensuring they are updated throughout the program.
• Define and specify internal and external interfaces, including margins and associated documentation.
• Perform technical management of subcontracts within the assigned technical area.
• Support the evaluation and management of deviations and non-conformances,
and assist in implementing agreed changes to designs and deliverables.
• Collaborate with system technical management and other systems engineering disciplines.
• Perform Electro-Functional Systems Engineering tasks for the Payload Support Team, such as:
• Conduct functional testing of the payload or support functional activities of the payload Digital Processing Subsystem (DPS).
• Provide EM Test Bench support (temporary assignment at DLR Berlin premises),
including preparation of payload functional test specifications and contributions to TRRs and TRBs.
• Assist in functional validation and verification, including preparation and management of VCDs for the DPS.
• Support DPS functional activities in the specification, development, production,
and verification of the On-Board Control Procedures (OBCP).
• Contribute to Electro-Functional Systems Engineering tasks for institutional and commercial proposals.
Your Qualifications
• University/polytechnic degree or PhD in Physics or Engineering,
ideally in Systems Engineering with a focus on one or more Electro-Functional disciplines.
• Professional experience in design, development, and verification activities for space projects,
preferably in payload projects within the Electro-Functional area.
• Organized and structured approach to tasks with a high degree of motivation.
• Basic understanding of systems from an Electro-Functional perspective
and a willingness to engage in system- and unit-level verification activities.
• Strong focus on achieving progress through solution-oriented thinking and communication,
with the ability to meet goals under schedule pressure.
• Strong communication skills, combined with the ability to work effectively in international and multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken; German language skills are a plus.
